     Y. He Last night I looked up both the Headcorn Bishops Transcripts and Archdeacons Transcripts and could not find a single Featherstone entry. I looked at baptisms, marriages and burials in the Bishops Transcripts from 1795 until 1813, the end of the film that I was looking at. I went through the Archdeacons transcripts from 1800 until 1811, again the end of the film, nothing in either. I should add that I am quite familiar with both films as I have had them both a couple of times before and, although I say it myself, I am quite meticulous in my research having been an Admin Manager for 20 years, and when I search for someone else I do it just as keenly as if it were my own research. I feel that it is very unlikely that I would have missed a name like Featherstone if it had been there. The fact that there could have at least nine entries makes me feel absolutely certain that I have not missed any.
Sorry that I could not be of help this time. Regards Eddie Gartside. 23 November 2002

William Featherstone, born March 29, 1805 in Headcorn Kent England, died August 18, 1879 in Walworth Township Walworth Co. WI.
He married Harriet Hubbard, July 4, 1833 in Wisconsin. The information that I have collected has come from a family bible and the recall of a great great uncle now passed away. The only sibling of Williams I have learned anything about is Elizabeth and that was through the information you sent me. They are all buried in Brick Church cemetery in Walworth WI, USA. I will start there with the records and see what I can learn from the death certificates. Linda Paddock [thepaddocks@hotmail.com]

Harriet Hubbard, born March 12, 1813 in Scotland, died May 3, 1853 in Sharon Township Walworth Co. WI.

The family lived at Sharon Cooners, which is the intersection of County Trunk K and Brick Church Road. The home was on the northwest corner and very close to the road. This family was Baptist and were members of the Brick Church. It is said when William came to Wisconsin he had land near Clinton. He traded with another family to be closer to the Brick Baptist Church. They are buried in the Brick Church Cemetery.

William had several brothers and sisters and they all came to this country. The brothers and sisters of William (not necessarily in birth order) were. Peter, Horace (sometimes called Edward), John, Catherine, Mary, Elizabeth, Harold and Pheby. It is said that two of these ladies lived in a log cabin near the Brick Church. It is also said that two of these ladies perished in the Chicago fire.

This will be easier.
I would like some info if you have it on this family.
Is George Redman Featherstone who died in 19/10/1917 in the 1st world war a son of William Featherstone or was he adopted when he married Emily Redman ?
Do you also know if there are any surviving descendants of Emily and William Featherstone still living in Australia.( I ask this as I was out in Australia last year and was staying in Melbourne). The address given was just up the road from where we were staying, with my husbands sister who lives there.
My father was in the Royal navy late 40's early 50's and was meant to have visited them, no sooner had he docked they had to up anchor and go of to some crisis so never meet her.
Just before I went to Australia a year ago he said to me you have relatives in Melbourne my fathers sister lived in Melbourne. What a shame he passed away he would be so pleased that I had found a little bit about them.
Anyway thanks for your help. I haven't got all my tree on the genes site yet as been building it up on Family Maker for the last 6 years.
