  1. [S475] Richard Huggett, "Richard Huggett," e-mail to Paul R Featherstone, 2006, I have one definite correction to offer to the Featherstone Tree, arising from my trip to the Centre for Kentish Studies. The youngest of George F and Mary Ann Dawson was Ethel. We concluded that the Dorothy Victoria, born Burham 1901, must be her "proper" name, but in fact Ethel is found in Burham Parish Register for 1906 - born 26 February, baptised 1 April. This is presumably also the Ethel registered Malling June 1906, 2a, 803. No one recalls any talk of a lost baby, apparently Nelson's twin, but that seems the likeliest explanation. Would there have been a death cert?

When George Howard (Lord Viscount Morpeth) left his post as Chief Secretary for Ireland, he was presented with a remarkable parting gift for an Englishman: a 420-meter roll of parchment signed by close to 160,000 people. The signers came from all over Ireland and from all levels of society, and some included their address or residence.
The 1841 date of the roll is particularly significant because it predates the beginning of the Great Famine in 1845 and because most 19th-century Irish census records have been destroyed. in 1841 at IrelandG.5
