George Featherstone married Mary Anne Billings, daughter of William Billings, on 14 February 1847 at Church of St Peter, Morley, West Riding of Yorkshire, EnglandG; Witnesses to the Marriage between Mary Anne Billings and George Featherstone were Henry Welch & Julius Whitehead. George and Mary Anne were married at Morley in Yorkshire (where Alfred was born), and at the time of his marriage, George was a Miner.
We think George married Mary Anne Billings between 1841 and 1843 in the Kent region and that William his father is left at home with two of his grand- children as recorded in the 1841 census. Of course they could be William's own children. George must have travelled about as it seems he didn't return to Mansfield until either late 1847 or early 1848. By this time they already had 3 children. George died on the 13th of January 1882 at Fishponds aged 68 years, he died from Chronic Bronchitis Anasarca, certified by I J Gadsby MD.
