Hi Paul
My wife is the proud owner of a piece of needlework completed by a Louisa Jane Featherstone. On the back of the work it is recorded that Louisa Jane completed it July 12 1866 when a pupil at Mrs Mann's school. She was born November 9 1851. I cannot find her in your index. Free BMD has a birth registered Dec 1851 in Medway District and also a death in Mar 1880 again in Medway District.

Do you have any information about her. If I knew where she was brought up I might be able to find out about Mrs Mann's School.

The piece ended up in the ownership of a Lady Templar-Smith. I found the following details of her husband on an Old Boy's web site for King Edward VI School, Aston, Birmingham. It may have passed by inheritance.

Colonel Sir Harold Charles Templar-Smith K.B.E. ( -1970) (Aston 1902)

Chairman, Gas Council. OBE 1952-60.

Honorary Doctor of Law, Leeds University 1959
