Lucy Pitts, born 28 March 1775 in Caroline County, Virginia was the daughter of Lunsford Pitts and his wife, Elizabeth Crutcher Pitts.  Lucy married Charles Featherson on January 24,1795 in Powhatan County, Virginia.  He was the son of Henry Featherston and wife Elizabeth Marshall Featherston.  Charles Featherston was born on November 6, 1771 in Chesterfield County, Virginia.  the marriage of Lucy Pitts and Charlres Featherston can be found on record in Powhatan County,Virginia. Charles Featherston served as executor of his father-in-law Lunsford Pitts' will in Sumner County in 1813.  When Lucy Pitts Featherston's father died he left Lucy the following:
'I have long since given to my beloved daughter Lucy Featherston one negro girl named Lelars (?) rated at two hundred twenty five dollars, one mare rated at twenty five dollars, and lastly one feather bed rated at twenty six dollars, furniture included, one horse colt rated at thirty dollars and three cows and calves rated at thirty dollars amounting in all to three hundred thirty six dollars.'
They purchased in January 1817, 250 acres of land on the east side of West For of Stones River from Samuel P. Black, who was Lucy's brother-in-law.
Lucy Pitts Fatherston was described lovingly as 'a short, thick woman with red hair and plenty of energy.'

Lucy and Charles Featherston had nine children: five boys and four girls. Who is child #9? I only have eight listed.
The family later removed to Heard County, Georgia where they died.  Charles Featherston died on November 25, 1852 and his wife, Lucy Pitts Featherston followed him in death on December 21, 1853.  They were both buried in the Franklin City Cemetery, in Heard County, Georgia.1 As of 15 January 1794,her married name was Featherston.1
