In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth Fetherston of Richmond in the county of Surrey widow Do make this my last will as followeth Imprimis I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping to obtain remission for my sins and my body I commit to the earth therein to be very privately interred in the vault of the parish Church of Sandford[sic] le Hope in Essex in which the remains of my late dear deceased husband were interred and I desire that the time of my decease may be put on the vacancy? left on the monument? of my said ---- dear husband in the church of Sandford le Hope as aforesaid and as to the ------- estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as followeth I order all my just debts to be paid in the first place Item I give unto my dear sister the Countess Dowager of Shaftesbury and unto my dear nephew Anthony Ewer Esquire their executors administrators and assigns two hundred and eighty pounds a year in the fourteen per centum long annuities which I am intitled to for the remainder of the term of ninety nine years thereof granted upon the trusts following that is to say upon trust that they the said Countess Dowager of Shaftesbury and Anthony Ewer and the survivor of them and the executors administrators or assigns of such survivor – and shall for and during all the remains of the said term of ninety nine years as shall be to come at my decease as my niece Hester Elwes shall live & pay unto my said niece Hester Elwes thirty pounds a year part of such two hundred and eighty pounds a year by half payments as the same shall be from time to time wro? ived and from and after the decease of my said niece I give the said thirty pounds a year for all the remainder of the said term of ninety nine years as shall so then to come unto such person or as she my said niece shall by any deed or writing under her hand and seal and executed by her in the presence of two or more credible witnesses notwithstanding her coverture & give limit or appoint the same and for default of such limitation or appointment then to her next of kin in a courses of administration and upon further trust that they the said Countess Dowager of Shaftesbury and Anthony Ewer and the survivor of them and the executors administrators and assigns of such survivor do and shall for and during all the remainder of the said term of ninety nine years as shall be to come at my death pay unto my nephew and godson John Ewer his executors administrators or assigns ninety five pounds a year other part of such two hundred and eighty pounds a year by half yearly payments as the same shall be received and unto my nephew William Ewer his executors admons or assigns thirty pounds a year other part of such two hundred and eighty pounds a year by half yearly payments as the same shall be received and unto nephew Thomas Ewer his executors administrators or assigns thirty pounds a year other part of the said two hundred and eighty pounds a year by half yearly payments as the same shall be received and unto my niece Elizabeth Ewer her executors administrators pr assigns the sum of fifteen pounds a year other part of the said two hundred and eighty pounds a year by half yearly payments as the same shall be received and unto Frances Smith widow twenty five pounds a year other part of the said two hundred and eighty pounds a year so --- of the said term of ninety nine years as she shall live the same to be paid unto her own proper hands by monthly payments in recompense? And Benjamin Walton of the parish of Allhallows London Wall gentleman who being severally sworn on the Holy Evangelists deposed that they these deponents were acquainted with Mrs Elizabeth Fetherston late of Richmond in the county of Surrey widow deceased and with her manner and character of hand writing having seen her write and subscribe her name and having now seen and perused the paper writing hereunto annexed purporting to be a codicil to the said deceased’s will beginning thus I Elizabeth Fetherston of Richmond in the county of Surrey widow and ending thus In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty three and thus subscribed Elizabeth Fetherston do verily believe the said codicil and the name Elizabeth Fetherston be set and subscribed thereto to be of the proper handwriting of the said Elizabeth Fetherston deceased John Perkins Benj Walton Same day the said John Perkins and Benjamin Walton were sworn to the truth hereof before me --- Harris Surrogate present Hon Collins MP

    Yesterday, the East London Coroner received information of the death of George Featherstone, aged thirty-six, a police-constable, late in the employ of Great Eastern Railway. Deceased was engaged in his duties at Spitalfields Goods Station when he was knocked down run over by a luggage van. He was so severely injured that he died soon after admission to the London Hospital.
