He was a founder and Life member of Bluegrass Sportsman's League and commissioner of the 6th District Wildlife Federation. He was an Army veteran of WW II, obtaining the rank of Captain. He served in the South Pacific, Hawaii, New Guinea, the Philippines, Japan and was awarded a Purple Heart. In addition to his wife of 36 years, he is survived by his nieces, Margaret D. (Rick) Foill, Mary Jane (Brent) McGaughey- Smith, Amy (Charles) LoPresti and Melissa F.
