    MARRIAGE.
    R. G. Fetherstonhaugh AND Miss BELLHOUSE.
The marriage took place yesterday, at St. Mark's, North Audley-street, of Captain Robert Geoffrey Fetherstonhaugh, 4 / 7th Dragoon Guards, second son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Fetherstonhaugh, of Northlands, Winchester, and Miss Kathleen Hilda Bellhouse, only daughter of the late Mr. G. Bellhouse and Mrs. Hunter, of 11, North Audley-street. The bride, who was given away by her step- father, Lieutenant-Colonel C. Hunter, D.S.O., 4 / 7th Dragoon Guards, wore a draped gown of ivory satin marocain with a wide folded belt, embroidered in pearls and diamanté. The train was of Honiton lace over shell pink chiffon and a veil of the same lace wag also worn. She carried a shower bouquet of crimson roses. The Misses Nancy, Rachel. and Elinor Cobbett, cousins of the bride, and Miss Doris Bellhouse. were bridesmaids, each being dressed in shell pink romain with capes tied over to one side, and headdresses of silver tissue and red roses, the latter matching their bouquets of the same flowers. Mr. Ralph Frink, a brother officer of the bridegroom, was best man, and the Rev. W. G. Pennyman, vicar of the parish, officiated. There was afterwards a reception at 46, Grosvenor- square, and among those who came on from the church were Mr. and Mrs. C. Featherstonhaugh, Mr. T. C. Featherstonhaugh, Mrs. Hunter (the bride's mother). Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Belhouse, Mrs. Vernon Belhouse, Miss Mariota Featherstonhaugh, Mrs. Glencross (sister of the bridegroom). PROBATE, DIVORCE AND ADMIRALTY DIVISION.
    DECREE NISI FOR A wife.
    Fetherstonhaugh K.H. v. Fetherstonhaugh R.G. (VINEY INTERVENING).
Before MR. JUSTICE HILL and a Special Jury.)
After a six days' trial of this petition by a wife for divorce the jury found that the respondent and the intervener had committed adultery, and the petitioner was granted a
    decree nisi.
The petitionioner Mrs. Kathleen Hilda Fetherstonhaugh née Bellhouse, of Eccleston Hill Chester, was married on June 27, 1923, at St. Mark's Church, North Audley-street to the respondent, Captain Robert Geoffrey Fetherstonhaugh of Pitt Manor, Winchester.
Mrs Fetherstonhaugh alleged that at various dates between June 1927 and January 1928, her husband committed adultery at Pitt Manor with a parlourmaid, Rose Linda Annie Viney, of Thruxton, near Andover, Hampshire. By their answers the respondent and the intervener denied the charges.
Sir Ellis Hume-Williams, K.C., Mr. Noel Middleton, and Mr. H. R. Barker appeared for the petitioner ; Mr. Norman Birkett, K.C., and Mr. T. J. O'Connor for the respondent; and Mr. F. L. C. Hodson for the intervener.
MR. JUSTICE HILL, in summing-up, said that the jury's verdict must depend on whether they believed the evidence of the petitioner and a number of servants on the one side, or that of the respondent and intervener on the other. The wife's case was that the servants were telling what they really saw and that the respondent was really carrying on an intrigue with Rose Viney. The other view was that the servants were unduly suspicious and imagined things, and that the whole thing grew out of the tittle-tattie of the kitchen.
The petition was filed on February 17. 1928, and the jury were entitled to take into consideration, in regard to charges in respect of incidents before that date, that Rose Viney remained on in the respondent's service after that date. They could also consider the evidence of other servants that the respondent had been seen in his motor-car between 10 and 20 times with Rose Viney who on some such occasions, was smoking a cigarette; that they had played bowls together, and that Rose Viney accompanied him when he went out shooting rabbits. Such conduct on his part must appear extraordinarily foolish, even if they accepted that I his attitude was: "I am innocent. I will take no notice of the opinion of the world. The girl shall remain in my service." There was no doubt that the wife was anxious to get rid of Rose Viney, and the objection to her going came from the respondent.
The jury found the verdict stated above without retiring. A decree nisi was pronounced, with custody of the children, and costs.
