    Richard E. "Dick" Featherston
    75, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on June 16, 1939 son of the late Robert Featherston and Alice Lorene (Hurt) Barlow. Dick courageously fought pulmonary fibrosis.

    He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1957. He was a Master Carpenter for 34 years and retired in 1998 after 30 years in the Carpenters Union. He was a lifetime member of Franklin Elks #1818, and past Exalted Ruler in 1980. He was a member of the Greenwood Moose, Johnson County Shrine, and the Franklin Masonic Lodge #107 F. & A. M. and was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ.

    Dick enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards.

    His loving wife of 41 years, Virginia "Ginny" (Gates) Featherston survives. Other survivors include; daughter, Tracye (Paul) Bowman; son, Richard (Gale) Featherston II; granddaughters, Heather, and Claire; grandson, Heath; four great grandchildren; four step daughters, Deborah Bowles, Diane Wilsey, Dawn (Bruce) Cox, and Donna (Tom) Striby; three step grandchildren; and one step great grandchild.
