Joan Whitefield went home to be with Jesus, on June 25, 2011 at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born on February 12, 1929 in New Castle Upon Tyne, England to Michael and Jean (Bonnar) Featherstone. After surviving the Nazi blitz of England during World War II, she immigrated to Canada, then relocated over time to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Joan married her former husband Jack Whitefield in 1950 and had four children. Joan was a devoted Christian and worked tirelessly spreading God's message. She was a great inspiration to many. Her delightful British sense of humor was enjoyed by everyone who knew her, especially her family. In years past she enjoyed aqua aerobics and running miles on the white sands of Siesta Beach, Florida.

Surviving are her children: Bob (Christine) Whitefield of Green Bay, Wis., Marie (Keith) Weber of Madison, Wis., Joanne (Dennis) Nemeth of Roscoe, and Terry (Jan) Whitefield of Green Bay, Wis. She is also lovingly survived by her grandchildren: Bobby (Jenny) Whitefield, Carol Whitefield, Genevieve (Chip) Stoner, Jessie (Terry) Schellin, Gary (Beth Pulvermacher) Weber, Philip (Missy) Nemeth, Angela Rosik and Derek Rosik. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Zachary, Gabriella and Luke Stoner, Rachael and Bryce Whitefield, and Kylie and baby boy Nemeth, and she will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Waiting for her in heaven are her parents and three siblings who she loved dearly, Marie Hern, Michael Featherstone, and Anne Tucker.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 West Nash Street, Milwaukee, Wis., 53216. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to The Boys & Girls Club of Rockford, P. O. Box 1716, Rockford, IL 61110 or charity of your choice. Arrangements by Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street.
